Possibly.: Newborns have an instinctive startle reflex which might look like"shudders," but it's absent in normal 10 month olds.  If these "shudders" occurs only occasionally &amp; briefly, contact your child's pediatrician for an acute care appointment.  If it's worse than that, seek immediate medical care.  I can't predict what the behavior you describe might evolve into.

why do shudder attacks happen? if a infant gets it will they have tremors too? if a 10month old gets it will it go away? or cause life long issues?

Benign: Shudder attacks are benign and mean nothing. They usually disappear spontaneously in a few years. There is no life long issues and they do not turn into seizures. See your Pediatrician, if the diagnosis is confirmed, you have nothing to worry about. It will get better by itself.

Ask prescriber: Prolonged use of Reglan (metoclopramide) to speed up gastric emptying has risks . Mild side effects include dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, headache hypertension and restlessness, dangerous side effete include decrease in white blood cells, heart arrhythmia, adrenal disorder, several neurologic syndromes.Some pediatricians have been trying Erythromycin as a agent to speed up gastric emptying. Zantac is widely used.

Can be normal: We do see what some call puppy dog movements that reflect the unrefined/immature nervous system of infants. There is also an issue labeled a shudder attack that mimics a shiver. Neither of these are considered worrisome &amp; fade with maturity. Only an evaluation could sort this out from something different.

my newborn baby who is 8 days old sometimes has night tremors. whereby he would scream then go back to sleep or jilt his body as if frightened.

should i be concerned and how do i make it stop.

May be normal but: Abnormalities are rare. That said, shaky movements in a new baby may or may not be normal, and it is hard to tell without examining the baby and seeing the movements. The best way to do this is to make videos of the baby's movements and show his pediatrician, who can take into consideration the progress in all the areas of baby development and decide whether the baby's movements are normal or not.

clonus in used to occur frequently whilst stretching the legs as tremors and could be illicited also,stopped after 3 months &brain mri was normal. baby is 7months old now and it occurs only when asleep and illicited in the ankles is this normal?

Yes : Stress and coffee may make worse, alcohol and sedatives and/or relaxation may make far better.  Some medicines may cause tremors.

Based on causation: At your age, you could possess a benign familial hereditary tremor or perhaps a thyroid issue.  The latter handled by thyroid meds, the former with meds to control the tremor, such as aprazolam, benzodiazapines, primidone, etc.

Yes: Tremors do increase with age. This is usually most noticeable in the hands and fingers during fine precise movements.
