my 7 year old daughter has come up in a heat rash allergic looking rash that feels hot all over her legs. please help?

Rashes can have many: causes.  If you know what started the rash, remove that from contact such as a new lotion or laundry detergent.  If itching, use antihistamine otc oral medication or anti-itch cream.  Try soaking in plain water bath.  If any trouble breathing, go to ER for evaluation.  If rash continues, see your doctor.

can i apply aqueous calamine on my 1 year old baby when he gets urticaria or when he gets heat rash? need him to  stop scratching.

Not recommended: For itching from heat rash, the best thing to do is prevent it by keeping him cool and dry. Put him in light clothing and avoid overheating when possible (avoid car rides in the heat of the day ). For the urticaria, your doctor may be able to help figure out what is causing the hives. Calamine is not very helpful. For itching due to insect bites, i like caladryl clear best.

Nothing: The skin in that area is very sensitive.Without having a chance to examine the "rash" I would encourage you to leave it alone. Just keep the area clean and the body will figure it out. If it spreads have someone look at it.

A few: suggestions!
STOP using a razor blade/use electric razor
Try a OTC CORTISONE cream !
Use a "calming" aftershave preparation eg NOXZEMA

Heat rash: nothing to worry about but if stays around it could be baby eczema which usually requires no treatment

Rashes ? : Rashes are visual, meaning we need to either see them or have you write a description that is adequate to provide a mental picture. This public HT site does not allow us to see uploaded pictures, so unless you can start over &amp;  describe the rash in enough detail to yield an obvious label, you'll just need to have the kid seen if it bothers you.

Moisturize, benadryl (diphenhydramine): It is difficult to diagnose a rash without seeing it, but if it itches and is small try some moisturizing cream such as aquaphor or vaseline to keep it from getting too dry. Nothing is needed: If your baby has "heat rash" on the forehead or cheeks (generally called milia) it is best to gently wash your baby's face with soap and water with a wash clothe twice a day for a week  avoid steroid creams!  you may apply a small amount of aquaphor cream to the face once a day.  Avoid scented lotions.  If this does not resolve in two weeks see you pediatrician.

Heat rash: Keep her cooler and it will improve over next few days. If not get her examined as it may not be heat rash
