Unlikely: Bladder cancer can be a very aggressive type of cancer. If it has already spread to surrounding structures and organs, it is an aggressive cancer and has metastasized. Once this occurs, the long-term prognosis is very poor.

Accepted Answer

No such restrictions: Dairy products are not harmful to patients with Cancer unless they are overweight, in which case we try to minimize dairy product use in order to lose weight. Over-weight is not good for anyone including patients with cancer. As such patients with Cancer are allowed to drink milk, especially reduced fat type of milk is good for their nutrition.

is soya milk, manuka honey and molasses good for patients with bone marrow cancer?
what can be the best diet for them?

Adjuncts only: Marrow cancer (leukemia, myeloma) is a cruel enough situation without people selling you worthless dietary supplements and "pop" foods.  I wish you the best as you undergo treatment for your illness. Your best diet is to eat sensibly, what you like, trying to avoid the very sugary / greasy / salty stuff, and to maintain physical exercise.

can i take milk thistle, dandelion for hepatitis?.is it safe as im a cancer patient., or i can take milk thistle alone..and at what doses?

Not effective: Milk thistle is unlikely to do you any good and it is not a recognized treatment for hepatitis. Please follow the advice of your medical doctor.

Ask oncologist : I would ask your oncologist to find the best option.They can place on medications to increase the appetite as well as recommend a nutrition plan such as nutritional consult, adding boast or ensure,shakes etc.in addition sometimes with serious illnesses patient do not want to eat due to depression and adding antidepressants may help or problems with endocrine such as thyroid.

if a patient has breast cancer and breastfeeds her child, do the stray cancer cells in the milk have any effect on her child?

Accepted Answer

Unlikely: The stray cancer cells in breast milk of a woman with breast cancer are not likely to be viable.  Even if viable, such cells are likely to get digested in the stomach.  However, it is probably not a good idea to feed a baby on the breast that is known to have cancer as cancer tissues often release products that are not healthful and may be harmful.

is soy milk safe for breast cancer patients?

Accepted Answer

Unknown: It is unknown for estrogen receptor positive (er+) breast cancers.  Soy has estrogen-like properties.  In lab studies, some soy products have caused breast cancer cells to die, while other products have caused the same cells to grow.  I tell my patients not to take soy supplements in the form of extracts, pills, or powders, but if they enjoy drinking soy milk they may do so, in moderation.

Stage: It depends to stage of disease and type of cancer and age of patients,and respond to treatment.
