Pain : You are probably correct about musculoskeletal but if you have pulmonary embolus history should discuss with your doc.

: Yes. You can get a cramp in any muscle. There are many between the ribs.

Likely,: especially if it no longer hurts.  Also depends how hard you struck your chest, but if no longer painful then I wouldn't be concerned.

Muscle spasm: It sounds like a muscle spasm or cramp. It could be in the muscles of the abdominal wall or the muscles in the small bowel or colon muscles. The pattern - when, relation to eating, relation to exercise, etc. Help sort out which it might be.

i have been to urgent care many times of chest discomfort, they told me that my heart is fine, i have gastritis and acid reflux. sometimes i feel cramping in upper area of chest, what could that be? i do get muscle spasm often. should i be worry?

: First guess it is reflux from GERD. Gravity never sleeps. Try putting feet of thechead of bed on 4-8 inch blocks. They will help quickly in some if it is related to GERD.

Not likely : Could be costocondritis or muscle spasm . If ekg and stress are normal , it's less likely cardiac
