i have a very large pimple/cyst on the back of my leg that has grown quite rapidly over the past 3 days, the inflamed area is more than 15cm across with a very small head, what is my best course of action?

Get examined: In the short term apply moist heat over the area &amp; it may help it mature &amp; start to drain. However, one this size needs to be opened &amp; drained surgically (possibly in office) or it is unlikely to heal. Temporary improvement may come with some drainage but it will tent to re-accumulate until it is properly opened &amp; the core/rhine removed.

i have a pimple or a cyst in between my groin and thigh area,im not sure what it is as its red and bigger than a normal pimple,what can it be,it feels like its got fluid in it . ?

Might be a boil: With a visit to his doctor, a person can get his bump diagnosed and treated. Most boils are treated with drainage of the pus inside. Antibiotics are sometimes, but not always, used after that. For boils that don't look like they are thin enough to lance through the skin, antibiotics may be used to stop the infection... and then a doctor can decide if later further treatment is needed.

periods r consistent in getting further apart for 5m now. some cystic acne, strong pain in buttbone and low stomach once. sometimes lower bk to thigh?

Anovulation: this could be a sign of anovulation or an ovarian cyst
polycystic ovaries can present like this as well
you need a check up from your doc
you need some hormone tests
you need an ultrasound of the pelvis

hi doctors! would you have any idea what what appears to be a whitish flesh colored big pimple like shape or cyst on the area between my inner left thigh and my scrotum (not on my scrotum) might be? could it be cancer..testicular.melanoma/carcinoma

Think common: Rare things (cancer) are rare. The description suggests a benign skin tag or cyst. Treatment if needed would depend on an exam that establishes the true nature of the lesion.

Rash: It is difficult to diagnose a rash without seeing it.  I would see your primary  care physician, and if he or she can't diagnose it, i would see a dermatologist.

Accepted Answer

Rash: with what you describe is sounds like folliculitis or inflammation/infection of the hair follicles.  Do you shave these areas?  With rashes, as a doctor, we must see and feel the rash to really be able to diagnose and treat.  Best to see your health care provider to check this rash.  Best of luck.

my 9 year old have fine bumps on his face, arms, legs, and back of the neck. what could it be if they have whiteheads on them?

Dry skin?: This sounds like a conditioned called keratosis pilaris which is a condition primarily related to dry skin. It is treated with good moisturization and avoiding harsh soaps, etc. However any skin condition that persists for very long should be evaluated by a physician. A dermatology referral may be needed.

Pimple: you can wash it soap and water and apply antibiotics ointment. If having fever, may need oral antibiotics

Very unlikely: Do you have any reason to doubt your doctor's opinion. Carcinoma of the sebaceous glands is very rare.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

i believe i may have sebaceous cysts. look like whitehead pimples, top of my penis shaft.popped one, white stuff came out. what can i apply to this?

Accepted Answer

Excision: If you do have sebaceous cyst(s), these need to be excised, i.e. removed surgically. Topical treatment will not remove those. Please consult your doctor for an evaluation.
