i have a white mucus in my throat from more than two years ago. no coughing. just i feel i need to take them out.

Post nasal disharge: Can be due to chronic inflammation of the upper airways, nasal passages and sinuses, you may want to see your doctor for that, who may order imaging studies, or refer you to an ENT. Meanwhile use saline nasal washes often , that would help clear the nasal passages and reduce inflammation if present, good luck

Hydrate well & : Gargle.Saltwater gargles are very helpful. Mix a teaspoon of salt in 8 oz of warm water – gargle with this several times a day. You can gargle with aloe vera juice a couple of times per day. A mixture of chamomile tea with honey & a small amount of lemon juice is good.

NO: H-pylori is a bacterium in the stomach which is associated with stomach ulcers or excess gastric acid production. Occasionally some the excess stomach acid can back up into the throat and cause a sensation of a "lump in the throat" similar to the sensation of excess mucous in the throat. You should seek medical attention to diagnose and treat this condition.

POSSIBLE: If you have coexisting post nasal drainge from the opennings of the sinuses into the nose, drainge can pass down your throat and cause symptoms. Best to have your otolaryngologist check.

Reflux: Mucus in the throat after eating is often caused by acid reflux (laryngopharyngeal reflux or lpr). Other symptoms include throat clearing, bad taste in the mouth, vague throat soreness, and a sensation of something stuck in the throat. An ENT or GI doctor can do tests to evaluate you for this. You may use otc Prilosec or similar daily, but more aggressive treatment may be necessary to resolve it.

Sinus or Reflux?: Thick mucus in the throat is due to irritation to the mucosa. Generally this means either 1)irritation due to postnasal drip from allergies or chronic sinus infection, or 2)irritation from acid reflux (laryngopharyngeal, "silent" reflux). The former is treated with a nasal steroid spray and saline sinus rinses. The latter with acid suppressing meds. Your doctor can help pin down a specific cause.
