Blood yes: Hemorrhoids can bleed - as many internal hemorrhoids to.  Internal hemorrhoids are inside and only sometimes come outside.  These usually don't hurt but can bleed.  Most people with painful hemorrhoids are external hemorrhoids.  If you are having mucus, however, there could be something more going on and a rectal exam and possible colonoscopy are critical to further evaluate for other diseases.

Stool tests needed: you need a stool test.blood test would check for anemia from bleeding or a systemic infection but you need a stool test.

No: But depending on the test method there are other causes of false positive. Did you do a guiac test of FIT test. FIT test has fewer false positives, but it only detects colonic bleeds.

Possible: This is not a home diagnosis.  There are too many possibly serious illness which may present like this and you should be seen by a physician quickly.

Don't ignore it!: If you are having blood and mucus in your stool, your colon is quite unhappy.  Mesavant most likely won't hurt your kidneys and will help turn off the inflammation in your gut.  Talk to your doc about it more but also consider your stress, your diet and possible infection as other things that could cause these symptoms.

Dysentery: Having bloody/mucous stool indicates an active inflammation or infection  in the colon, the cause of it may vary from bacterial, protozoal infection, inflammatory bowel disease. You need to have it checked out if the symptoms persist. See a gastroenterologist.
