had ringing in my ears for 14 years.  had mri...no brain tumor.  sometimes louder for weeks...then quieter, constant. relief?

Tinnitis: You have something called tinitus.  There are some treatable causes.  If looking for them on mri, you need the scan performed in a way specifically looking for reversible causes.  A standard MRI just looking for a tumor may not cut  it.  Also a high resolution ct scan of the temporal bones with contrast may be better.  If those are negative, an ENT doctor can help you with symptomatic treatments.

Anxiety is possible: You would be surprised at how many ways anxiety can present itself.  Dizziness is a common feeling but typically when something troubling is happening in your life.  Have you fallen as a result of your balance problems?  Worrying about having a brain tumor could be making you nervous and making your symptoms worse.  Are you taking your anxiety mess as directed?  These could also cause dizziness.

May be lower part: of the brain would be visible but not entire brain. So, you need mri of the head separately if indicated.

Best test: An MRI with contrast is the best test to detect a brain tumor.  If the MRI did not detect a brain tumor then it is likely either too small to see or there is no brain tumor.

Maybe, or not: Sometimes appearance is characteristic, sometimes not. Other imaging, including pet/ct can help differentiate.

Yes: MRI has the ability of seeing lesions that are as small as 1 mm. in diameter.  That is literally "pinpoint" in size so unless the tumor were smaller than that then, MRI would be expected to pick up something abnormal on some sequence of scans.  Also, if looking for a solid mass lesion an MRI with gadolinium contrast injected is more sensitive than uncontrasted. Was that done?

i started prozac (fluoxetine) 10mg 7 days ago. the last few days i've been really forgetful. could the prozac (fluoxetine) cause this? scared of brain tumor. mri 6 months ago.

Contact doctor: You should contact the doctor who prescribed the medication. It has many side effects and your doctor needs to discuss the risk/benefit ratio with you. Are taking both prozac (fluoxetine) and amytriptiline? Do tell your doctor. You may consult this site for more information on this drug.

Consider other cause: Since you had an MRI of the brain 6 months ago, and it was normal, you should not think of brain tumor as the cause here.  Other causes are more likely and more common.  These could be medicine side effects, changes in the sensation of the feet, changes in the inner ear sensation of movement, or changes with your strength.
