Surgery of heart: Cardiac surgery refers to heart surgery. This can be for bypass blocked arteries, repairing leaking valves, replacing valves, closing holes, fixing birth defects of the heart, removing tumors of the heart, and transplants. There are even more but i think you get the idea. It requires a specialized team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and support staff.  Often a heart lung machine is needed.

Vessel compression: Depending on the type of cardiac lesions, there may be enlarged arteries or veins that compress the airways.  Occasionally, this can affect the trachea or windpipe.  This can cause tracheomalacia or floppiness of the airways.

If you stop t abruptly, watch out for acute depression & suicidal thoughts.

Rare: Infection related to certain heater/cooler units used in open heart surgeries. Most commonly related to valve surgeries, but overall risk is still less than one percent and since problem recognized efforts will bring that risk even lower going forward.

my mom on warfarin, and admitted to do a cardiac surgery.. they stop warfarin and replace it by heparin .. what is the reason for that?

Heparin acts: in a different way on intrinsic  pathway , can manipulate better  during surgery and post surgery , then the doctors will switch back to warfarin by discharge time .

Rule out...: Every unexplained rash calls for a re-examination of all the meds he may be taken. Ditto for unexplained edema, "angio" or not. If this was me, I'd ask about a biopsy, as I'd not want to miss cutaneous lymphoma that might be manageable.
