Very common: Mc is caused by a "pox virus" and these are extremely common.  They are also easily transmitted.  They usually just go away on their own and do not require treatment.  There are no effective home remedies.  He could visit a doctor and it can be "burned" off or treated with freezing.

Probably not MC: Single molluscum contagiosum lesions are unusual -- generally there are several. And MC almost always is cleared by the immune system long before a year. So probably this is something else, perhaps some sort of skin cyst. See a doctor for diagnosis. Good luck!

Are you quite sure you do not have a single pearly papule on the corona of your penis? Let me suggest you show a few other physicians. Molluscum is not considered a std; a pearly papule can be lasered off.

There are several treatments that are successful (freezing, imiquimod, etc) in shortening the course of skin lesions. Cimetidine may help, but there are potential side effects w cimetidine. Talk w your PCP or dermatologist to see which treatment is best.
