Jadassohn&#x27;s: Nevus sebaceus. Just watch it. Junior will probably want it off when he&#x27;s older. Any sudden changes or new lumps or ulcers within the lesion should be seen.

Do you get annual: head to toe checks of your skin?  If not, sound like it may be a good time for a dermatological evaluation. Take care.

Yes: A person can develop a mole anywhere on the body and this is normal.  However, this is not to say that any mole that grows anywhere is normal.  Moles should be evaluated by a dermatologist if they appear to be abnormal by the pediatrician or the parent.

Mole ?: At 21 not likely you have had it for years. Well I guess if it fell off at age 1 that would be 20 years. Let your Dr look at it and feel it and offer an opinion and make recommendations.

: Dermatology examination is recommended. Apply sunblock, wear a hat and avoid peak sun hours if possible. Most likely these are benign lesions, but please follow up. Watch for signs of bleeding, pain and irregular edges of the lesion.

Not a problem: Honestly, hair growth within a mole is really not an issue. Color change, however, is one of the events in the "life" of a mole that should direct you to see a dermatologist. I certainly would recommend that.

FAMMM: Your condition is also called familial atypical multiple mole- melanoma.  Screening for melanoma in fammm kindreds should begin at age 10 with a baseline total body skin examination including scalp, eyes, oral mucosa, genital area, and nail, as family members may develop melanoma in their early teens.

6yr old child has 5mm raised mole.  present for many years.   mole is light - medium brown with pin head size darker area.    over last month no changes.   hair in mole  is this  a cause for worry.

Leave it alone: There's nothing to suggest malignancy. Hair present actually speaks against an concern. Show the physician on the next visit. All pigmented lesions in kids do need to be checked; i'm glad you're monitoring it closely.
