Not always pregnant: Pregnancy is the most common cause of a missed period. If not pregnant, other causes of a late or missed period include:  excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, having an illness, traveling, medicines (especially birth control pills), hormonal disorders, etc…  A visit to one’s Ob-Gyn doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring, or worrisome.

when u have your period three weeks early does that mean you can  b pregnant? and if so can u please tell me when is the best time to take a test?

No, yes: Early period doesn't signify pregnancy. Best time to take pregnancy test is 4 weeks after last menstrual period (lmp). In other words, check after you've missed your period. If you want to get pregnant but your test is negative, go see your family doc for prenatal vitamins. If test is negative & you don't want to get pregnant, talk to your doc about birth control. Then make partner wear condom.

Just late period...: If u had sex just before period. - you were unlikely ovulating.. you were past ovulation and so you could not get pregnant at that time. Consider Birth control and always use condom for STD prevention ... if not stable relationship. If any doubt check pregnancy test again and/ or talk to your doc. Most likely your period is just late.  It can happen time to time.

Symptoms of periods include: lack of period; nausea; vomiting; increasing abdominal girth; swelling and tenderness of breasts; headache; insomnia; increased frequency of urination; passing gas; moodiness etc.

Not necessarily: One of the benefits of the pill is that it causes the uterine lining to thin, leading to lighter periods.  Some women may stop having periods on the pill (although this is rare).  If someone on the pill misses a period, she should have a pregnancy test done to be sure.

Time for a pregnancy: Test - to make the determination. You are now almost 3 weeks late - so if you are pregnant - it would be positive by now.

Not necessarily: Many women have occasional variation of their menstrual period timing, some spotting between periods, a heavier period, a lighter period, a longer or shorter period, or even a missed period.  Having one or two of these symptoms doesn’t necessarily mean there is a medical problem, but a visit to one’s primary care or Ob-Gyn doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring, or worrisome.

Pregnancy ?'s:  Pre-ejaculate contains some sperm, so pregnancy is certainly possible. Stress can also delay ovulation, which will delay the onset of a period. Wait a week, and obtain a serum HCG test to be certain about pregnancy.

Amenorrhea: If not pregnant then likely hormonal issue or perhaps a condition such as polycystic ovarian syndrome

Possible: Do a pregnancy test and you can find out very quickly.Is hard to tell otherwise for early pregnancies.
