Strictly speaking: you have resistant hypertension if your BP is still high on 3 or more medications. First, make sure you are taking them all correctly, you aren't taking something else that raises BP, and your lifestyle is optimal (weight, salt, exercise, etc). Check for secondary causes: sleep apnea, renal artery stenosis. Will likely need diuretic, ACE inhib or ARB, beta blocker, and Ca+ channel blocker. To Doc!

Resistant htn rx: Resistant HTN is complex and usually is present for different reasons in different persons.  Minoxidil is one med reserved as a last resort for resistant HTN.  Affected person must restrict salt, not smoke, exercise daily, be compliant with bp meds, be near or working to achieve ideal wt, and have fixable etiologies ruled out by tests, like hormone excess, kidney disease, renal artery stenosis.

: The procedure is not for adrenal gland ablation but the correct term is renal denervation (denervation of the renal sympathetic nerves). This procedure was only done in the academic centers as clinical trials with conflicting results, especially for the long term. MVP is usually asymptomatic but needs to be also monitored by your primary MD and/or cardiologist.

Too many options: If you have resistant blood pressure, you may need to make sure you do not have a secondary cause such as a kidney or hormonal problem.  Undiagnosed sleep apnea can do also be a cause.  Obesity and failure to lose wight with diet and exercise can also prevent medication from working.  You may need to be on at least 4 types of drugs to lower your blood pressure.  You may need to see a hypertension.
