Yes: But best results with twice a day every day for years. Generic minoxidil is just as effective at lower cost. Some people respond much more than others. Newer, more effective therapies are likely in the future.

Minoxidil: You will wash the minoxidil out if you wash your hair. It is best to apply minoxidil to scalp and leave it in place for 6 hours for optimal results. If you wash your hair, you will need to reapply it to scalp.

Probably yes: Theoretically it can work as well and may be better , but each individual has different tolerance and side effects, i don't  see any harm in trying for a short while and see how you tolerate. Watch for blood pressure and local hypersensitivity reactions of your scalp skin. Have a follow up with your doctor as well.

No: Topical applications like these do not enter the skin beyond the hair roots they are meant to stimulate. Since they do not enter the bloodstream, there effect is localized to the area of application. That does not include ageing.

Yes: Absolutely.  This is the same preparation and concentration as marketed for women.

Minoxidil: Minoxidil  is Minoxidil no matter what the brand is.  The only difference would be the vehicle because it allows for the penetration of the medication. In general the branded drugs are more effective than the generics.

Better than Minox?: Glad to hear that Minoxidil is working for you. Switching to prescription formula82m has worked better for some patients because it has other ingredients beside minox. Other patients find adding lasercap low level laser therapy or prp platelet rich plasma treatments help too. Where density is low, of course hair transplantation using the no-linear-scar neograft fue approach can get the job done!

dr asked me to take only 1ml minoxidil 5% at one sitting. i  happened to take more, say 1.5ml. will it have any effect? no visible effects till now.

Probably nothing but: Probably you will not see much difference. It's topical , so system effects are minimal , but on prolonged use above recomanded dosage may have some side effects. Besides using higher dosage do not expect faster results , but waste of your money.

Minoxidil : Minoxidil  is not contraindicated in your case I would suggest you increase  the strength to see if it gives you any better results
