what does it mean to be mildly positive to ischemia?

Some ischemia: Don't ever hesitate to ask your doctor to explain a term used during your visit!  in general mild ischemia means that there is some documented reduction (inadequate) in the normal flow of blood, i.e. Ischemia.  I don't know what kind of test you had or if you are referring to your heart or some other part of your body.  Without more information i cannot be more specific.

If you had a stress test and the results were positive for ischemia, then you need to see a cardiologist for further evaluation, but that is the extent of advice i can give you with the limited insight I have in your problem right now.

Positive: This means that they did see signs of ekg changes when you reached a certain level of exertion. This would warrant further evaluation with imaging stress test or angiography-depending on cardiologist's choice.

Young for heart dis.: Reversible Ischemia on stress Test means that part of the muscles in your heart is/are are not getting enough blood due to partial blockage of one or more arteries to that muscle. You need a cardiologist who can perform a (cath) Coronary artery ANGIOGRAM. This requires catherization of artery, usually in your groin, leading into your Heart arteries. You may  angioplasty or stent of blocked artery.

Ischemia: I would assume this test was done for a reason, you do not mention symptoms. The results are best discussed with the ordering physician who can provide you with options, this needs to be treated, don't ignore it.

Evaluation: Not sure which type of stress test ...Routine treadmill vs. One with imaging etc. Routine treadmills can have false positive results in women. Either way further evaluation by a cardiologist seems warranted.

Coronary angiogram: Reversible ischemia means that when you exercise part of heart muscle is deprived of blood supply. You are not going to die, but should consult with a cardiologist to see if you need coronary angiogram. Your heart should be at resting stage. Avoid any exercise until you have the work up done. Stress test can be sometime wrong. At age 31 i dont expect you to have coronary artery disease.

More info: Not sure exactly what type of test was done and why a young pt like you was stressed. If no imaging was used i suppose a stress test with ecocardiographic imaging would be helpful. How far did you walk and what are your risk factors would be helpful as well.

Cardiology eval: Need to go to a cardiologist and possibly get a cardiac cath done under fluoro to see patency of coronary arteries, flow  and blood distribution, etc. to get all the answers you seek...
