Varies: Usually something with a wide forefoot and have the capability to fight the tendency you might have to go into supination.  An orthotic that is custom made might be helpful as well.

Their are many: Procedures for bunions with met adductus vary for the individual. It depends on how much deformity there is, how much motion to 1st metatarsal or hypermobility is present and others so without seeing your x-rays and foot it is difficult to say.  Seek second opinion if you are not comfortable with the 1st one.

Deformities: Hallux=great toe; valgus=points outward from the center of the body. Metatarsals= the bones of the front of the foot; adductus= points inward toward the center of the body. The deformities lead to a distortion of weight bearing on the foot. Such a distortion may or may not give pain but increased activity amplifies the likelihood. Running can briefly place 6X your body weight on the foot.
