This drug works on in the brain causing a decrease in chemicals that normally act on the heart, kidneys, and blood vessels. All together, this lowers blood pressure and heart rate.

Yes: Abdominal pain is noted secondary to methyldopa.  If you do have pain get checked as this can be associated with liver toxcitiy.
Other  symptoms would include yellow skin or eyes, dark urine.
