Bartholin cyst: The Bartholin's glands produce mucous moisture substance and is located at the left and right entrance to the vagina.  When the duct that allows the secretions to exit gets plugged or obstructed, then the gland can get enlarged and painful.  If it is greater than 2.5 cm in size it can be treated with gentle compresses. If larger and more painful then surgical incision and drainage is indicated.

only way to get rid of recurrent cyst is by a surgical procedure called marsupialization can be done later.

Remember: There is a difference between a cyst and an abscess.  If it starts hurting badlyit needs to get drained.   The cyst itself, if uninfected, may run it's course but I am not aware of a way to drain it.  Keep the area clean with soap and water, no intercourse, and it may recede.   The cyst is generally not painful, the abscess is and requires attn.  I wish i had a better solution.  Gd luc.

Antibiotics: If antibiotics do not work or the gland becomes infected again, then  incision and drainage is appropriate.

It drains: It should be cultured as it may be infected or sterile and you may need antibiotics, usually if you have a barth cyst , you want it drained before it ruptures, you should go see your gyn or go to the er to be checked.

Yes and no: You can have sex if the cyst is not infected and painful. Has nothing to do with your ability to get pregnant. If you are not trying to get pregnant you need to use contraception.

2 different issues: A Bartholin’s cyst does not require any treatment until it becomes infected. People can live with them for years and years. The mons cyst needs a diagnosis. An Obgyn needs to see it to determine what it is and what might be causing it before we can offer any suggestions. If the mons cyst if visible clearly then consider a virtual visit for a preliminary analysis
