Unknown: I am not aware of any case reports of deaths from only metaxalone. In general, muscle relaxants like Metaxalone can cause sedation which can, when combined with other medications, result in respiratory depression and death. Not recommended: Metaxaolne is a pretty strong muscle relaxant that can cause sedation. Ativan, (lorazepam) as a benzodiazepine, is also a strong muscle relaxant and sedating medication. Using the two together can cause severe sedation and their side effects can compound. If you have been prescribed both, stagger the dosing to avoid these compounding side effects. Hope this helps!

Depends: Even if it shows, you need not worry about it.  Skelaxin (metaxalone) is not a narcotic medication.  There are some labs which are very sophisticated and will determine almost anything that you take.  Most other labs look for narcotics and sedatives.
