Hormones: Your pituitary makes precursor hormones that tell your ovary when and how much estrogen and Progesterone to make, which determines the length of your cycle.  Cycles do change over time.  So long as no pituitary or thyroid problem, then change in cycle is due solely to changes in natural hormone production. Birth control pills can help regulate to 28 days, but unnecessary if that's only concern.

Normal Range 21-37: You are still w/in the normal range, so it may be nothing to worry about. But, since it has changed you could ask your doctor to examine you and perhaps do some lab tests to see if anything is irregular. It's probably fine. For the anxiety, consider a bit of CBT therapy to learn skills to manage anxiety.

Not likely: If you have regular cycles and are ovulating, the problem may be your uterus or tubes, or it could be your partner's sperm. Those things can be tested. See an infertility specialist: they can be very helpful.

Probably not: It sounds like you are in good health and are still far away from menopause. After age 35 genetic counseling is recommended because there is a higher risk for certain diseases in the baby. Generally you wouldn't start with fertility medication until after one year of trying to get pregnant. Talk to your doctor about your concerns. Best wishes and good luck!

I : I can understand your concern as that is a very unusual menstrual cycle.  Please take a pregnancy test to be sure that isn't the cause, but it sounds unlikely.  Please have your thyroid hormones checked to be sure you are not hypothyroid.  It is also important to be sure you are receiving adequate nutrition, as patient's with malnutrition can have irregular cycles.  That is a very long time to go without a period so i advise that you do see a gynecologist and have this completely evaluated.

every time my kid is on their menstrual cycle they get symptoms of a cold is there a reason for this? they get congestion, scratchy throat, itchy eyes, and a cough. it starts about a week before they start their cycle and it lasts about a week after?

: It is felt that the immune system weakens in the days before a period leading to colds. Sometimes allergy type symptoms get confused with head colds. If your kids are getting true head colds with periods very often, try improving their immune systems with giving them vitamin C daily &amp; see that they get good sleep regularly.

Post partum: It varies. If you are breast feeding, may not have a period for months. You can ovulate though and don't trust breast feeding as a form of contraception. Most women have a period after they give birth if not nursing by 6-8 weeks.

You : You need to have a complete medical evaluation.  You should have blood testing including thyroid hormone levels.  Your weight should be assessed, as either too high or too low of a weight can cause amenorrhea (absence of periods).  You do need to have a complete medical evaluation for not having your periods in two years.

Unfortunately: This forum wouldnt be adequate to give you a thorough answer. You should see your gynecologist of a reproductive endocrinologist for evaluation and help.  Irregular cycles may mean irregular ovulation. A cesarean section would cause irreg ovulation however.
