No problem: You must however remain well hydrated, especially in saudi arabia. If you tend to get dehydrated you have a chance of developing kidney stones. Drink a minimum of eight 12 glasses of water per day. One other long-term but relatively rare risk is the development of glaucoma. If you develop this you will have one eye that is bright red and painful. If it happens please go immediately to the emergency room. Otherwise you are unlikely to develop any long-term problems with this medication.

Don't 2nd guess: Neither is w/o risk and they are Rx'd for different (w/ overlap) conditions. You need to work w/ your Dr on selecting the best for you - say clearly that safety is impt to you. Know what they expect it to for your condition. Side EFX are pretty similar for both - your other health issues might be the swing vote.

Unusual: Does not usually cause this side effect, and doubt, if you had the kidney stone issue, it would cause chest pain.  Discuss with your doctor as this could be stomach event or a new comorbidity/.

Talk to your Doctor: It is unlikely that the Topamax (topiramate) is to blame DIRECTLY for worsening headaches since it generally used as a very good prophylactic agent in treating chronic migraines, however, there could be drug to drug interactions going on with other meds you're taking or your condition itself just spontaneously got worse coincidentally....maybe you just had a "bad day" with your IIH? Otherwise, talk to your doc

Taper slowly: Dont stop taking Topamax (topiramate) abruptly. You could have a seizure if you do. Taper off of the medication slowly under the direction of your prescriber.
