It Varies: Some recording of the heart rhythm needs to be made. This can be via 12-lead ekg, 24-hr holter monitor, or 30-day loop monitor. Sometimes it is picked up by telemetry when in the hospital.  Other tests (echo, stress) may be needed depending on what tachycardia is found.

Arrhythmia: Tachycardia is a general term applied to any fast heart rate including tachyarrhythmias.  A tachyarrhythmia specifically implies a form of arrhythmia which causes a fast heart rate, not all arrhythmias cause a fast heart rate.  Tachycardia is defined as a heart rate more than 100, normal heart rhythm is frequently more than 100 in exercise, excitement, fevers, etc.  None of these are arrhythmias.

No and yes: Oxycodone surely can cause dizziness but not bradycardia. Something else is going on.

suggestions to discuss with my doctor: hypertension (on avapro 150 now), anxiety, and pvcs. what medication would you consider? ssri, beta blocker, thiazide diuretic, combination of any? want to start beta b, but weary of rebound tachyarrhythmias?

My thoughts : I eschew beta blockers due to adverse effects such as fatigue, exercise intolerance, syncope, asthma, cognition issues, cardiac complications, and stopped years ago. Many newer anti-BP meds (even use of cocoa). Meet with your doctor

Depends!: Medications are neither inherently good nor bad. It's the (intent of) use that can make something "bad". Improper use, improper dose, improper frequency, improper route of administration can all make any "good" drug bad. Hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) used to lower blood pressure is a "bad" drug to lower cholesterol or cure strep throat b/c it does neither. Yet, it's a great drug for hypertension. Talk to your familydoc.

Meds for memory: There really is no medication specifically for memory. There are medications that can help improve concentration. Some holistic stores sell natural supplements that promote themselves as good for memory.

Do not use if pregna: Category x drugs are contraindicated for use in pregnancy due to studies demonstrating evidence of serious fetal abnormalities in animals, humans, or both such that fetal risks clearly outweigh maternal benefit.
