Not sure why the ?: since propoxyphene has not been available legally in the United States for about 10 years now.  It was taken off the market for 2 major reasons.  One was that it simply didn't work.  Codeine DOES work.  Numerous studies showed that darvon compounds only worked because of the other things in them (aspirin, tylenol (acetaminophen) etc.) and that darvon alone was a placebo. Secondly, it had cardiac effects.

It can: Any pain medication can cause rebound headache.   Especially if you're taking it too often.  See medication overuse headache (moh).  This includes Ibuprofen and acetaminophen.  Darvon and darvocet were removed from the market in the us in nov. 2010 due to concerns about increased risk of cardiac arrhythmias, Acetaminophen overdoses and questionable effectiveness.

It is long acting: and if you were taking it regularly, it's metabolites could be detected in urine for weeks, which is what I assume you are really asking. Not sure how you are taking it, since it has been banned in the US for about 10 years. Depending on what test is used, it may not show up, since it is chemically different than usual opiates like oxycodone and hydrocodone.  If they do GC/MS it will show up.

Propoxyphene OD: Propoxyphene (Darvon) is a narcotic pain reliever. Overdose symptoms could include: either small or dialated pupis, cold /clammy skin, blue lips, sedation,  confusion, fainting, weak, slow or irregular pulse &amp; slow, shallow breathing or resiratory arrest.  The FDA banned Darvon &amp; other medications that contain propoxyphene due to potential cardiac problems.

Darvocet: This medicine is no longer available.   It used to be called darvocet.  Propoxyphene and tylenol (acetaminophen) together.

I worry about this: Please consult your doctor. See also drugs.Com interactions. Propoxyphene is the more dangerous of the two. Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) has strong sedation too as well as an antidepressant-like effect. I worry this combination could mess you up. I worry about what kind of condition you have that these would be prescribed and together. Your doctor will be able to consider all of these factors and your physiology.

Yes: This medication can cause urinary retention.  This medication is also no longer available in the us.

Yes: If you are on severe pain , it is hard to overdose.

Of course...: Anything that can cause a mental “change in state”, will be used or abused by someone to achieve a brain change.  Some substances, like alcohol,  cause a reliable change in state that is similar from person to person. Other substances, like propoxyphene,  produced a more unreliable change & only at higher,  more dangerous doses. Also, it's not available in usa anymore.

Proxyphene: No its not okay - medications should never be used to make you happy - that is how to start to use them for reasons other than pain relief. The relaxation and ability to ficus is okay as we presume that the pain has reduced.
