Oxy: Oxycodone is generally thought to be a bit more potent than morphine. Usual ratios on a mg basis is 3 mg morphine = 2 mg oxycodone. That stated different medications work differently on different people due to genetics and medication interactions.

That may explain why there seems to be more abuse.

No: It's the other way around -  oxycodone is 3 to 5 times more potent than morphine, but in equipotent doses, they have the equivalent effect.  "strength" is not a characteristic that means better or worse, it's the size of the pill or the shot.  When drugs are given in equivalent doses, they work about the same, although there are individual differences in side effects and other characteristics.
