Premarin-least used: Premarin and its' companion product Prempro are the least popular among GYN MD's as it is an older product and there are many more estrogen/progesterone medications on the market that work "better". Premarin was one of the first estrogen products historically derived from equine urine (horse).

Maybe neither: Why take the mindset that one reaches for a pill either allopathic or naturopathic for a natural condition of womankind?  I would counsel starting with avoiding triggers like alcohol/heat, then progress to dietary control.  There are several anti-inflammation diet books out there which can be helpful.  Or consider therapies like yoga to strengthen the mind-body before reaching for pills.

: At age "33", menopause is generally not a factor, but if your periods are irregular or you are having long intervals between them, your GYN physician may need to evaluate your symptoms and use oral bcp's to control them. There is no really effective "over the counter" medication to assist with menopausal symptoms, as prescriptive therapy is usually necessary.

Natural progesterone: But there are many ways to have it administered if you are taking estrogen and have an intact uterus.

Which drug?: I frequently use fluoxetine for mood disorders in menopause if HRT therapy itself does not alleviate mood disorders. I rarely have to use mood elevators if hormones are properly balanced during menopause & perimenopause.

No worries: A single 25 mg dose of Metoprolol will not hurt you. If you are worried about lowering you BP too much, just check it, especially if you feel particularly tired.

Yes, it should: Spironolactone changes the balance of hormones that cause menstrual bleeding.  If spironolactone is the cause, then bleeding will stop when you stop taking the medication.  Post-menopausal bleeding can be caused by endometrial hyperplasia (pre-cancer of the uterus) or uterine cancer, which is rare at age 34.  Please inform your doctor of the bleeding.
