i have severe itchy throat,cough,stuffy nose, and sometimes sneezing and runny nose. i had a fever for the first 2 days and i had a sore throat at midnight.is this a bacterial infection in the respiratory tract ? and which kind of medicine do i need?

: Throat lozenges and over the counter cough preparations with honey are often effective. Drink fluids, rest and if the fever recurs, please see your physician. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and fever.

Depends on the site: Of infection and organism.  Upper airway infections include  streptococcal sore throat, diphtheria, peritonsilar abscess, acute and chronic sinusitis, laryngitis with hoarseness etc.  Most of these infections are associated with fever, pain at the site of infection, and may have sequelae like rheumatic fever, glomerulonephritis, scarlet fever, neuropathy etc.

Upper airway infecti: It means a part of upper airways(sinuses, pharynx, trachea) is populated with bacterias . Most of this bacterias creates excessive secretion(yellowish, thick, greenish).And symptoms of stuffed sinuses, throat pain, productive cough, fever , chills.If you have  this symptoms go see a doc asap.

Infections: A sore throat is usually a viral infection and treating symptomatically is appropriate. If symptoms progress or do not improve over 5-7 days starting antibiotics such as Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) or Azithromycin to treat an upper respiratory tract infection is acceptable. If you have symptoms such as nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain Ciprofloxacin can treat a bacterial gastroenteritis.

Yes -plenty of germs: Doctors can test for Group A Strep -which is only one specific germ that can cause a throat infection (or pharyngitis if you want to be technical). Different viruses are also implicated (like mono, adenovirus, etc) but certainly other bacteria are on the list. Pertussis (Whooping cough) and diphtheria are two important ones. Then there are other Strep species, 'mixed' infections like abscesses etc

Cannabis smoke is: A respiratory irritant. I don't believe that cannabis caused you to have a bacterial infection - but it could have made you more susceptible to catching one. It can lead to heavier mucus production.

i've had a bacterial infection in my throat since monday, and i only have some amoxicillin that expired last march (2012). is it ok to take it?

No: You should never use expired medicine. And I am not sure you should be treating yourself. Why dont you give that burden to your doctor?  He or she will gladly help. :).

Maybe: There are a lot of reasons for a lot of phlegm in the throat. It could be a bacterial infection; it could be bronchitis from smoking; it could be allergies; it could be a sign of a lung disease like bronchiectasis. 

If this is a persistent problem, i would get checked out by your doctor or even a lung specialist.

Get tested: Repeated infections in a young person suggests a weakness in the immune system. Some immunodeficiencies are genetic & show up in early adulthood. Others may be acquired such as hiv. A specialist  needs to sort this out.Other diseases can mimic infection such as autoimmune disease. This requires special testing. Always maximize your general health with proper rest, nutrition & exercise.

Viral? Bacterial?: Get tested. If bacterial you will be prescribed antibiotic.
