: Young women's ovulation can be irregular during their first months/year after the start of menses. After the body becomes accustom to the process monthly ovulation normalizes. They can ovulate before their first menses. Some women establish a pattern where ovulation and menses come only every few months.

No periods: Amenorrhea (no menstrual period) is the most common effect.  Long-term absence of menstrual period can cause bone loss and may influence the future risk of heart disease.

No evidence it helps: There is some scientific evidence that vitex agnus-castus (chaste tree berry) may help with pms symptoms and cyclic mastalgia (breast pain) but no studies showing that it helps women with ovulation disorders. If you aren't ovulating regularly and are trying to conceive the safety of vitex when you're pregnant is unknown, so you should stop it when you get a positive pregnancy test if you conceive.

No!: It's not really normal for any reproductive-age woman, but especially in a 27 year old. Anovulation does not mean you can't (ever) get pregnant, that depends on the reason for the anovulation - you may well require a doctor's help but in most cases it should be possible.

Remedies for periods: Not having a period can be a sign of early pregnancy, thyroid disorders, hormonal imbalance such as pco, prolonged use of birth control, stress, too much exercise, anorexia etc.  If you have spoken with your doctor and they say this is just one anovulation period, natural supplements that balance hormones are vitex , oil of primrose (better for progesterone).

There are several...: Some natural therapies may work, depending on why someone is not ovulating.  For example, if it's due to pcos, then weight loss may help (if overweight).  Acupuncture has helped some of my patients..  If it's anovulation due to anorexia, being too thin, or exercising too much, then weight gain may help (along with decreasing exercise). Within a month: The hormones from Mirena (levonorgestrel) are cleared from your system fairly rapidly.  Some women may take longer to ovulate.  See your doctor if your normal cycle doesn't return in 3-4 months.
