Depends: A cavus deformity does place asymmetric stress on the cartilage of the ankle joint. The deformity should be corrected to give a stable foot in order to lessen the progression of OA. This should be evaluated by an orthopaedic surgeon who has completed a foot and ankle reconstruction fellowship. what is usually done for a displaced meniscus to prevent osteoarthritis forming? i have having a lot of medial side pain doc told me to live with it?

Meniscus padding : Missing the meniscus decreases the cushion on your joints. Although there is no way to replace that cushion at this time you can try to have a lateral or medial heel wedge in your shoes depending on the side removed. Appropriately fitted this could shift  the pressure to the side with the intact meniscus when you were walking, running etc. Also appropriate exercises such as quadriceps strengthening is important.

i'll had a medial meniscus repair done in nov.still having pain walking,squating ,locks up if i sit too long..dr says i have osteoarthritis in my knee gave me sterile shot 4 time and 3 euflexxa shots also says i have osteoarthritis in knee and it painfull

Post operative: or post traumatic arthritis is a common side effect of invasive joint surgery. I advise an aggressive PT rehab, medicine for pain and swelling and most of all follow up with your surgeon.

Can't remove cysts: The cysts are part of Osteoarthritis. It is too early for surgery. You need physical therapy, quadriceps strengthening. Osteoarthritis causes cartilge thinning, sclerosis (hardening) of the bone and reactive cysts in the bones. You should try to avoid surgery - see a rheumatologist.

Many things.: Exercise regularly. Take meds for the pain ( usually Acetaminophen and a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory).  Take meds before pain inducing activities. Consider injections of meds or surgery. Try msm/ glucosamine/chondoitin. Go to physical therapy.

Yes: Temperature variations do not cause osteoarthritis, but patients with osteoarthritis seem to do much better in warm environments.  In general, cold temperatures can make arthritic joints stiff and aching. Where warm temperatures tend to loosen up and lessen pain in arthritic joints   thank you.

You: Can use warm compresses, depending on the joint involved use stabilizers to minimize movement around the joint during movement, pt to strengthen the muscles around the joint and use of pain medications. Injections into the joint sometimes are helpful and also weight loss in obese people.

No predicting: There is no one way to predict the future of someone's health or joints.  Genetics can help us know if you are more likely but there are so many factors involved that no one can be sure.  The key is to sty active in the pursuits that you find enjoyable.  If you start to have joint pain that prevents you from engaging in these activities, then a visit with a doctor should help with both a diagnosis.
