: D is a fat soluble vitamin, meaning it dissolves best in a fat &amp; not in water. Any of the fatty oils mentioned are reasonable carriers for this supplement. I am not aware that one performs better than any other. All have been used as  nutritional supplements by themselves.

Coconut oil: When used with moderation and with the same amounts found in food, it is unlikely to have side effects or interactions. However, it is high in saturated fat and can increase cholesterol levels and so if you are taking anti-cholesterol medications you may want to discuss it with your physician

High cholesterol: Hi. Total cholesterol is a fairly uninformative number, and treatment decisions should not be based on it. It helps to know your overall profile. If "high" is due to HDL, no problem. If "high" is due to LDL, that is a risk for atherosclerosis. Are your triglycerides high or normal?
