Possibly : If all of those drugs are being used together there is a possibility of a negative drug interaction. Two of the drugs in particular could have a serious effect.  It is important to have a primary provider, in addition to specialists, who is aware of all the prescriptions that are taken and can make sure inappropriate combinations are not used together.

what s the difference between zomig (zolmitriptan) and maxalt?

Both triptans: Each might stop a migraine if taken within the first 60-90 mins of headache onset, and both have a brief half-life, about 3-4 hrs.  Maxalt comes as tablet or mlt which can dissolve in mouth.  Zomig (zolmitriptan) available as nasal spray, which may resolve headache within 15 min, but tablet and zmt dissolving forms are both available.  Might use one or other based on results.

Migraine treatment: There are many good medications for migraine treatment. Migraine is a serious and complex neurologic disorder. Today effective management of migraine involves three specific strategies: 1) patient education 2) non-pharmacological management (diet, sleep hygiene, acupuncture) and 3) pharmacological (triptans, topamax, (topiramate) etc) management. Rec.:see orofacial pain or headache specialist. Hope it helps.

Many choices: For migraines that are frequent, a preventative agent taken every day is an appropriate way to gain relief.  There are many choices of meds and this choice depends on individual circumstances, side effects, etc.  The choice should be made by you and your physician together.  Butterbur is over the counter and proven to work.
