To vague: Vancomycin if given to fast causes red man syndrome. The skin becomes red a bruise doesn't sound like this is related to vancomycin.

Bump: Any bump of unknown origin needs to be examined by your doctor.  One possibility is a sebaceous cyst, which is relatively common and very treatable but you need to be sure.  Peace and good health.

Get eval: Unfortunately it is relatively impossible over the computer to diagnose skin lesions/bumps etc. .. Could be cyst, benign lipoma, pimple, small abscess, follicle inflammation, etc.  Best for you to get it looked at by a dr.  A dermatologist would be best.

: Blood thinner can cause blotches and bruises but not thin skin. I wonder if your mom is also taking steroids which can cause all those symptoms.

: No. Ask how much weight he has gained.  
Google Cushing's and see if he looks like any of the images. Have him see a Dr for evaluation.  Does not need to go to ER.  Maybe Drug store walk in clinic?

: You probably had herpetic whitlow. This herpes infection is usually self limited but the lesions can last weeks to months. Recurrence is rare but possible but the duration is shorter with relapse. If you have doubt, you should see a dermatologist for the next episode but I doubt it will recur in the near future. Take care.

Hematoma : If the dried blood is under the nail it would be called a sublingual hematoma. If it's under the skin it's called a sub dermal hematoma. They usually are caused by blunt trauma or repetitive trauma to that toenail or part of the skin. Usually a new nail grows out in 4 months, it's cosmetic if anything. If it is really painful your foot doctor can drain the dried blood in their office.

we noticed that my daughter has blue and purple marks on her skin below her lips. it's not painful, but it looks like a bruise. she went to bed quite early tonight. not sure if this is something i should he immediately worried about?

No need to worry: If she is otherwise healthy, she might have been hit or bit the inside of her lips, in the morning you can take her to the doctor for assessment and reassurance, unless there are other symptoms or she isn't acting herself, wish you both wellness

It will be necessary for you and your wife to go to a dermatologist and inquire as to the meeting significance of the spots. Some people get bruises because of clotting problems and blood, some through accidents.  See your dermatologist for a better answer your question.
