Some people do...: I have had patients have no symptoms, or any combination of: mood changes, dizziness, trouble concentrating, feeling "high", weakness, lack of coordination, anxiety, confusion, and sleep problems (insomnia). Most patients tolerate it well.

Few days to wear off: This really depends on the patient and their liver and kidney function. The liver breaks it down and the kidney helps to eliminate Dronabinol. It can take between 1 to 3 days for Dronabinol to be completely eliminated from the body. If dizziness is a problem please remember to rise or sit slowly to lessen dizziness!

Appetite help: This is a compound that uses an ingredient found in marijuana. It is used for appetite and nausea control. For some it works well and others not so much. I has less CNS side effect for most people when compared to the parent compound.

Legal in all States: Marinol is a prescription medicine and thus you cannot get it legally anywhere in the us without a prescription from a licenced physician/nurse.  Physicians physicians and nurses (often under supervision of physicians) in all states can issue prescription for this medicine when appropriate. Consult your doc if you have questions/concerns. No: There is some alkaloid in marijuana smoke which can in some patients lower the eye pressure.  It is not at all certain that it is thc which is the major component of marinol.  And Marinol does not lower the eye pressure.  There are so many effective ways of treating glaucoma that Marinol is not worth thinking about.

From marijuana: There isn't anything unusual about Marinol besides the fact that it is derived from marijuana. It is a prescription for those having significant anorexia/wt loss from illnesses such as HIV and cancers. Marijuana is still illegal in most states.

No: Marinol is used to increase appetite, for instance in cancer patients on chemotherapy who are unable to gain weight.

Legal issue: In pa the only legal option is marinol. There are other concerns in possible contamination of pot with other chemicals that could be toxic when inhaled. Also for asthma or COPD any smoking is not a good idea.
