: You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Infection/allergy: if this process has been present for over a few weeks, would see doc to be evaluated....many times enlarged lymph nodes suggest an acute infection or allergy, but once in a while , they may signify something more serious.

Neck nodes: Given you are very lean,. the neck nodes you are describing are within normal limits, especially since you have no symptoms.

Piercing: Yes, if there was a mild infection.  Just the trauma itself shouldn't give you too much of an issue.  If the earlobe is getting more painful, see your doctor.

Normal.: Feeling a lymph node on one side is most likely normal.  If you have pain or swelling, you need to consult your dentist or pcp.
