I won't worry.: Lymph nodes get enlarged and inflamed (and not damaged) by filtering surrounding infection. Take care!

Yes: We often see lymph nodes in the region of the heart on CT scans.  However, this is considered abnormal.  We would need to know all your history to help determine why you have them.

ever since i pushed on lymph nodes under left side of neck ive kept gettin feelings of passing out but never do (several months) i know my heart is ok?

Accepted Answer

The lymph nodes you: are indicating are close to the carotid body on that side. This is the blood pressure and heart rate regulator. When you push on that you will slow your heart and drop your blood pressure. Do it long enough or hard enough and you WILL pass out. Potentially you still have some swelling there that is stimulating the area. Ask your health care provider to examine you and determine this.

Old infection: would be the most common explanation, but there are some other illnesses that could cause this and be more worrisome.  You need to ask the physician who ordered the x-ray what s/he was worried about, and what is the cause for these findings.  Good luck!

45 yr old male for physical. dr just listened to heart and lungs, script for blood wk. did not look in eyes, ears, feel lymph nodes. is this normal?

Unfortunately: most doctors no longer have the time alloted to them to do a proper physical.  Though many doctors believe that looking at these parts of the body is very "low yield" for finding actual disease or pathology, it is necessary to give the doctor the best chance of spotting something unusual at a later time, and to be familiar with the patient's body.  It also makes the patient feels "cared for".

Can't tell here: Sorry to hear about your mom. That extent of disease typically has a poor prognosis, but you can and should get a better sense of things from the docs who have examined your mother.

what causes an abnormal lymph node near heart?

Infection, tumor: 'near the heart' usually refers to what is called the mediastinum. Enlarged lymph nodes in this area have a similar cause to those anywhere. Infections or tumor are the commonest causes. It may be an old infection of no importance. Depending on how it looks on the imaging study and how it compares to any old images, you may be advised to ignore it, get follow-up studies or have it removed.

can you get lymph note between your beasts bone and your heart that were i have pain i see dr on monday or can that cause a fever?

It would be ulikely: Good idea to see your doctor on Monday. 
There are quite a few more commoner causes  of pain in the area you describe including esophagitis, GERD, pericarditis and so on. Pericarditis would be associated with fever. 
What mad you think about a lymph node? Do you have enlarged lymph nodes elsewhere?

imissed miscarriage 8.5 wks pregnant (heart stopped appx 6.5 wks) my wbc is slightly high (12) and lymphs are flagged low.  abs. lymph is in range low?

Accepted Answer

Sounds normal range: A WBC count of 12,000 is in normal range, and a slightly low lymph count should not raise any red flags. What is the problem ??
