my daughter has lupus & arthritis one of meds is hydrocodone for pain. her husband refuses to let her take them. what can she do shes in so much pain?

See details: This is an impossible situation. She needs to take her husband to the next doctor's appointment she has so the doctor can explain the need for pain meds and answer the husband's questions. I am also a little leery of using drugs such as hydrocodone if the pain is related to lupus. The disease needs to be treated and hopefully the pain will improve.

Hydrocodone: is not recommended for non cancer pain with perhaps the exception of some cases of neuropathy. The American Academy of Neurology just issued a statement to that effect. More people have died from narcotic overdose from prescriptions in the past 10 years than died in the Vietnam War. Fibromyalgia has never been an indication for narcotic use. If you have neuropathy from SLE you may qualify for Tx

Not sure, I don't : think anyone knows for sure if its okay for sure. No study has been done on those supplement with SLE. I would recommend stay simple supplement with multivitamin, Vit D, B complex. At the most, protein shake for post work out.

Not worth it: There is no scientific proof that these supplements are beneficial for your SLE but there are unknown risks which may be harmful. I'd advise against taking this step.
