Lupron (leuprolide) is not alone: Endometriosis is a common cause of cyclic pelvic pain.  It is linked to your menstrual cycle, so attempts to suppress your cycle should help with pain related to endomtriosis.  Hormonal therapies including birth control pills, NuvaRing and the depo-shot should be re-considered.  Also, these combined with nsaids (ibuprofen-like medications) should be considered.

Safe up to 55 lbs wt: Central precocious puberty requires both early development of both pubic hair + breast development. Should be safe for girls weighing up to 55 lbs. Should be given regularly every 28 days. Consider 2nd opinion if daughter is older than age-8-years.

No: Lupron (leuprolide) is typically given to girls in cases of precocious puberty to prevent their growth plates from fusing too early, prolonging their period of growth.  Once you are past the age of normal pubertal growth, Lupron (leuprolide) has no effect on height.

Long story short: ivf hormones can make your endometriosis worse; Lupron (leuprolide) can help but not during ivf cycles; surgical extirpation of endometriosis before ivf best bet, if possible. Seek help from a reputable rei center in your area, take Folic Acid 1-5 mg daily and best of luck!

Terrible: Hate the drug.  It has bad side effects and very few indications in my opinion.  If it's given for endometriosis or pain, there are other treatments.  The most effective treatment of endo is surgical excision.  This can cure the disease but there are few providers capable of this procedure.  Recurrent pain after surgery needs to be addressed but Lupron (leuprolide) is not the answer.  Ther are a few indication.

Yes: Long term use of Lupron can weaken the bone. Anyone on long term Lupron should be on add back therapy to prevent bone loss as well as calcium and vitamin d. Long term Lupron can also predispose to heart disease and so estrogen add back should be considered to prevent this risk.
