Side effects: Asthma medications that are inhaled whether they are dry powder inhalers or typical push and breath inhalers can cause some people to cough.  If the cough is not better, it may be an alternate treatment or another diagnosis is the problem.  See a lung specialist for accurate diagnosis and a specific treatment that is well tolerated.

Mucus: If your symptoms are more than a week old and you are raising large amounts of discolored sputum, it's likely that the viral upper respiratory tract infection has morphed into a bacterial bronchitis. If so a course of antibiotics would be helpful in reducing the duration and intensity of your infection. Otherwise good fluid intake and expectorant syrup would help.

i went for an xray this morning with a result of:

regression of ptb in both upper lobes.
pneumonitis considered, both lower lobes.'

was diagnosed of ptb infiltrates on both upper lungs, went under medication for 1yr last 2009 gotnnegative results?

Sounds like: you had infiltrates suggesting TB infection and treatment was carried out in 2009. You only need a course of treatment ONCE  Regression means IMPROVEMENT but some residual scarring may remain

In : In general, yes.  However, i would be more worried about the possibility of infection with a fever after a lung surgeon.  You should consider following up with your surgeon, primary care physician, or local emergency room for further evaluation.

Yes: Generally yes.  With your history of pe (unless there was a specific cause for this like a broken bone) and being positive for the factor v leiden mutation, you probably would be placed on lifelong anti-coagulation (e.g. Warfarin). However, it depends on your history, other medical risk factors, etc.

Discuss with doc: Problems like these can only be correctly handled by her doctor in person.  He/she needs to listen to her, perform an examination and possibly run labs or other tests. That's the only way he/she can find out what's going on and what to do about it.

Ambiguous: Antibiotics. And for as long as it takes to get better. Usually for at least ten days. 

There is no way to be more specific. It depends on the history, the kind of pneumonia, and all kinds of other variables.

: I don’t know, however, how do you know that you have fibrosis of lungs.  Did a Physician tell you.  Was an X-ray, CT scan taken.  Please ask your treating Physician about your concerns.

Hookah : You know the answer. You are doing damage to your lungs, as evidenced by your shortness of breath. You need to stop smoking immediately, taking an OTC will not repair damaged lungs. You also immediately seek evaluation by a specialist Pulmonologist or a specialist in Internal Medicine. Smoking, no matter the substance, no matter the delivery system, over time causes irreversible bodily harm.

i'm an rt. my pt. has 50% lung function and severe copd. what are the recommended medications?

ICS, bronchodilators: For maintenance medications, the goal is symptom relief. This can be done with bronchodilators ie short or long acting beta agonists, ( albuterol, formoterol) and anti cholinergics, there is some atrovent (ipratropium) may increase the risk of cardiac events, so long acting anti- ach drugs like spirva are better. Inhaled steroids may be lower the risk of COPD exacerbation's as well. ( torch study) and are used.
