Yes: Sounds bad -Can you go  to a center for chest Xray? You may have Bronchitis, pneumonia, influenza or more. Pain all the time is concerning. Need to see a doctor to get a diagnosis. This could be life threatening. Don't wait Need to see a doctor today.

You need to be seen: Asthma medications are not designed to help any infection, just the mechanical events that are part of asthma. From your symptoms it sounds like you may have a bacterial ear infection &amp;or pneumonia. If you don't get checked out this can get very bad.

Reword this question: "Some kind of lung infection" means nothing. Cough? Fever? What is the DR's diagnosis? Any other meds? Ache in chest due to cough? How long ill? Effective therapy of bronchitis is time + inhalers. Antibiotic therapy is not effective for viral infections. While Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is not the first choice for acne, it can be effective. If the acne is improved after 3 months, continue the med. Usually just 1 a d

Humidifier for Lungs: Your airways love warm, humidified air, coupled with frequent forced coughing to expel mucus. A mist humidifier or long, hot shower works well. If you can't expel the mucus, forced deep breathing, coupled with chest percussion may bring up the mucus.

Upper back pain: This is unlikely to be pneumonia due to absence of cough,fever,chills,sweats,pain on deep breath, wheezing  or shortness of breath. Musculoskeletal causes are more likely. Have you any history of strain from exercises, occupation, housework, posture problems,being in cold drafts? If symptoms persist consult your physician and appropriate examination and testing will be done.

Yes: Pneumonia is a common terminal event. If you have cough and fever, see your doctor for an evaluation. Most lung infections are readily treatable and a 27 year-old should not die from it.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Antibiotics often required.  If immune system is weak  and/or infection severe ad untreated, lung infections, could lead to death, but most cases of pneumonia are treatable and can be "cured".

Yes.: Smoking worsens just about every single lung disorder, including infections.  Smoking paralyzes and damages tiny hair like cells along the lung/bronchial lining that help move dirt, bacteria, dust out of the lung.  So you can see how smoking can make a lung infection worse.
