No: Some testicular cancers can diffusely infiltrate the testes without forming a discrete lump. The cancer may then present with generalized swelling. Why are you concerned?

Are they new?: The normal texture of the scrotum is sort of that way.  Are theses painful or different? Best be checked out if they are. It is really hard to say without seeing. Sorry.

Epididymitis: A painful "lump" above the testis is usually epididymitis. This is common and can be treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications.  See a physician for diagnosis and treatment.

It is too small!: You should monitor this nodule for the next 1 to 2 months and see if it grows in size. If it gets larger to a size of a Nickel, then you wiil need to show it to your doctor or go to see a Urologist for a check up and do further tests like an ultrasound test of your left Testicle. If the size doe snot increase over the next several months, then you can ignore it as a probable benign condition.

Epididymis : Although what you describe still technically could be a cyst from the lower portion of the epididymis, get examined by a urologist to be certain.

Probably so!: Yes, if you had a normal ultrasound, then you do have an epididymis.  Since it's coiled and loopy, it can feel lumpy.  If you go to Wikipedia and search "epididyus"  (yes, you did spell that correctly), you can view a cross section of the testicle and its adjacent structures.  Then, you'll be able to "see" what you "feel."  Unless you notice pain, swelling or discoloration, no worries!

See a doc!: You are in the perfect age group to get testicular cancer. This isn't usually painful, but it can be and it needs to be ruled out right away. Another possibility is torsion, where the testicle gets twisted. This can be an emergency and make you sterile. See a doctor right away for an ultrasound, which is painless. If those things are ruled out, it could be an infection, inflammation or a hernia.
