Lots of things: Depending on whether it's painful and your history with that ear, it could be a keloid (lump of scar tissue), could be a small cauliflower ear, it could be an infected cyst or a big pimple. If it is bothering (pain, itching, redness, etc) then you need to get it checked out.  A lump should always be evaluated and investigated by a physician.  Don't play around with it.

Maybe?: Maybe hypertrophic scarring, keloid formation, metal contact dermatitis, infection, etc?

Lump: She may have a granuloma or bump secondary to having had infected ear ring site. The resulting healing process resulted in a lump of scar tissue.

See below : Most common cause of such benign lumps involving the ear lobe are either an epidermoid or a sebaceous cyst. Sometimes these will resolve with time or by applying moist heat for 15 minutes 2-3 times daily. If they persist or become bothersome, treatment options include needle injection of an anti-inflammatory medication vs incision and drainage vs surgical excision. If concerned, see an ENT MD.

Earlobe Cyst: Sebaceous cysts are the most common type of cysts seen in the ear. They are bulging, sac-like collections of dead skin cells and oils produced by oil glands in the skin.
They commonly occur:
behind the ear
in the ear canal
in the earlobe
on the scalp.

Cyst?: This is a common area to form small sebaceous cysts. They are formed from the oil/ hair folliclles in the skin. They often do not go away. Sometimes they can get infected and get larger or painful. You should see your doctor or an otolaryngologist  for evaluation  and treatment. They are often removed or excised.

Too little info: See a live human and have him examine you. Did you get new eyeglass frames where the tips at the ends may be irritating you? Have someone look at that part of your scalp and see if it looks red or swollen. Could be insect bite. Have doc look and give advice.

Duration?: Probably not. Give it a couple of weeks to resolve. If persistent or progressive. See ENT doc for assessment.

Cyst?: It is not uncommon to develop a cyst in the ear, scalp or neck.  They are usually benign and do not cause a problem.  Still to be sure you would have to have it excised and put under a microscope.  If it bothers you, is painful, or begins to grow rapidly see a surgeon for removal
