i have a blue lump 5mm in diameter at the base of my index finger on my left hand i have had it for around a year but just lately seems more prominent?

A couple of thoughts: My first thought is that this is a thrombosis/blood clot in a digital (finger) vein. It may initially have been painful but after a year, the pain is gone and the blue lump remains. It could also be a discolored ganglion cyst or even a skin tumor including melanoma. You could send us a picture for further help, but your best option would be to have a Dermatologist examine you/it. Good wishes:)

i have a small hard lump in the palm of my left hand 1 centimeter across located two  centimeters directly below the base of my ring finger. any ideas?

Could be: Dupuytrens contracture causes nodules to form along the flexor tendons in the palm. Eventually this may cause pain with full extension of the finger or limit range of motion. In the early stages is not painful, red or responsive to "arthritis" medications. It would be unusual to have a bone spur in this area, but get it checked by a doctor if it bothers you.

i crushed hand two weeks ago. i got it x-rayed, no fracture. now i have a small painful lump at the base of pinky finger palm side. what could it be?

Painful finger lump: Could be a ganglion cyst , they develop when there is repetitive stress and a crush injury could be stress enough. Sometimes they go away on their own or can be aspirated ,rarely need surgical removal. Could also be tendon partial tear ( would not see unless MRI) f/ u

Yes: It is hard to  say for sure what it is  but if it is bothering you then yes you should get it checked out.

i use the computer a lot for work. the last few weeks ive had pain my palms at the base of all fingers & wrist pain. no lumps there, just some mild tenderness. tried ice/heat/nsaids. cant see ortho yet. what is the most likely differential?

: Repetitive motion injury. You need to take frequent, small breaks from use of computer.

Could be...: ...Warts, especially if the tops of the bumps are rough. If the bumps itch, it could be dyshidrosis, a form of hand dermatitis. See a dermatologist for a precise diagnosis.

Cyst?..: This sounds like a possible ganglion cyst, which grows from the tissue that covers your bones in that area. It is pretty common and benign in nature. It can be bothersome and in some cases painful. I advise you to see your doctor to actually confirm this is what it is and get treatment for it.
