You're fine: Normal WBC. I trust lymphocyte and neutrophil counts were fine also. Take the prenisone for the poison ivy only if it's so bad you can't sleep otherwise. We're glad to help.

im having extreme pain in my lower and middle spine, kidney tenderness, low grade fever and a white blood cell count of 18,000 raising by the day. mri shows negative. pain gets worse by the day?

Go top the ER: You may have an infection in the kidney (pyelonephritis) which can be very dangerous. The high WBC count with fever and flank pain point to that illness. IV antibiotics will be needed if the problem is confirmed. Go the emergency room for evaluation.

? Excessive Salt : Sometimes excessive salt intake, glucocoritcoids medications, venous insufficiency in the legs, low blood proteins can cause that. Suggest PCP work this up

We need the count nu: You need to share the actual report with us. Just saying "High white count' does not help. Send us the actual report of the numbers including Hemoglobin, WBC count, differential count(neutrophils / lymphocyctes) and the platelet count. Then we can give you further advice.

Yes!: Orthostatic hypotension can be a sign of volume depletion ("dehydration").  You should see your doctor and hold off on exforge (amlodipine and valsartan) for the time being. Indication for Aranesp is not obvious. Suggest you consult nephrologist.

Follow up: The best answer i can give is to be sure to follow up with appointments and blood tests.  There could be a number of reasons for low white blood count, some of them serious and some not, and the best thing one can do is to be sure the child has close follow-up with the pediatrician.  If the cause is known to be an immune deficiency, then keeping good hygiene is very important.
