Need values: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, you may have low gamma globulins and should discuss it with your doctor to ensure that you are not in a deficient state of immunity.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Yes: at this level would also probably cause swelling in the legs and should be evaluated promptly.

Find cause: This may be as simple as a protein-poor diet (some of the fad / "green" diets can do this), or reflect low Albumin from liver disease, kidney protein wasting (nephrotic syndrome), myeloma, inflammatory bowel syndrome, or any of a host of illnesses. And some folks just genetically make little albumin. Good luck; a lab value means nothing out of context.

Most vegetables!: They are not macronutrient dense! broccoli, cauliflower, greens, brussle sprouts, cabbage, lettuce.  Does not apply to onions, nuts, fruits, carrots.

Traditionally : In the old days when we didn't have dialysis available, low protein diets were often used to treat patients with advanced kidney disease. Now, however, the recommended daily protein intake  for such patients is about 0.8 gram per kilo body weight. In other words, you do need protein in slightly lower amounts, but extremely low intake will do more harm than good by causing a malnutrition.

Yes and ?: Low serum Albumin is associated with swelling. That said, protein values are not noted on a complete blood count.  Did you have other routine blood work done?

Mind Your Garden!: It contains less of nitrogenous waste in the form of urea.Urea contains the nitrogen &amp; is very soluble in the blood and so is carried to the kidneys for removal. Of course a really low protein diet that causes malnutrition can affect the kidney &amp; then the urea builds up in the blood.Urea is used in many fertilizers as a source of nitrogen for plants, so, if you have a garden, you know what to do!!
