Doctor for Grandma: Your grandma needs to see a doctor, possibly a geriatrician.  She has multiple problems which can result in difficulty concentrating.  Of course alzheimer&#x27;s will cause this, but she may have more acute problems (like infection, etc) which can worsen it.  If she&#x27;s examined and something is found that can be treated, she may be better able to concentrate.

: If you give us specific #, our answer will be more precise. While genital cancer (cervical or endometrium) can't be ruled out with these limited info but I doubt, you probably have mild iron deficiency anemia (although your Hb is still in normal range but likely  in low normal limit) &amp; reactive thrombocytosis from anemia. High C-reactive protein (how high) isn't a specific test, not quite useful.

Yes: A low mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (mchc), even in the absence of a low mean corpuscular volume (MCV) or low rbc count can be a  sign of a evolving microcytic anemia. Microcytosis can be caused by iron deficiency (check ferritin level) or thallesemia (check hemoglobin electrophoresis). Hope that this helps.

Not necessarily: You don't mention how old the baby is, but iron deficiency is rare before 6 months except in babies born prematurely. You don't mention how low the hemoglobin is, but unless it's very low the fever should not be a problem. If you're concerned, the doctor caring for the baby's anemia would have the best idea how concerned to be about the fever and the anemia.

The opposite: Any patient with cancer is at risk for thrombosis, but during the time that the platelets are low the opposite is possible.  Depending how low the platelets are one can have easy bruising, bleeding from gums during teeth brushing, it is even possible to have dangerous spontaneous bleeding in different areas of the body if the platelets are very low.
