It can: Athlete's foot and jock itch are caused by fungal infections of skin.  Keeping the area clean and dry is important. Any antifungal can work.  If it doesn't get better see a clinician.

how do i know when jock itch is gone completely? currently treating one thats been stubborn with lotrimin powder after multiple treatments. itching is gone, but skin color is a weird faded pinkish color?

: If it’s not scaly or itchy anymore and the area is not growing,your tinea Cruris(jock itch) is gone.It may come back in the future.Use Terbinafine or Clotrimazole,etc. Treat your feet if also scaly or itchy.I think that one or more of the products you applied before, might have had a strong steroid and, the pinkish hue is skin atrophy.Most cases go back to normal in around a year.

Ans: Sounds like you have improved. Continue your cream and try putting talc powder over the area. This will keep the area dry.

can econazole cream for jock itch be used in combination with over-the-counter lotrimen jock itch spray or benadryl (diphenhydramine) sprays to suppress itching?

Probably: Usually we don't want to use two different antifungal agents at the same time but there is probably no harm in doing so.  Benadryl (diphenhydramine) spray is ok but there are other otc stuff such as tricalm, itch x that may be more effective.   I would suggest that you space the application 30-minute or more apart and see your doctor if the problem persists.

Rash: This must be seen and examined to be accurately diagnosed and this cannot be done over the internet. See a dermatologist.

Clotrimazole: This or tolnaftate kill most jock-itch fungi. They may not work so well if it is candida (this has satellite lesions). This is one that's easily handled without a physician visit. Best wishes.

Clotrimazole: This is a pretty good antifungal. It's likely to clear up both candida and some of the common dermatophytes. Don't neglect basic hygiene (keeping things dry and clean, preventing chafing)

: Just apply it, no need to rub it in.
If your symptoms do not get better in a week or so, it would be prudent to see a doctor.
