Removal : Removal of the uterus does not prevent pleasure from sex.  However, if your ovaries are removed you may have less vaginal secretions and there could be some thining of vaginal tissues. If you did experience vaginal dryness, there are hormonal creams that can be helpful or vaginal lubricants. Some women  who have had removal of ovaries do experience a decrease in sex drive (libido) but that is not due to a loss of sensation. There are many women who feel sexual freedom because they are  no longer worried about becoming pregnant each time they have intercourse. Take care.

Healthy eating: Very few dietary supplements have been shown to make any difference with weight loss. A better option is to work on diet and exercise. Make half your meal vegetables and fruits. Go for variety. And keep in mind that potatoes and french fries dont count. choose whole grains & limit refined grains. pick the healthiest sources of protein. Drink lots of water. Stay active.

It depends: First, if you need a hysterectomy, you probably have pain, bleeding, a large uterus or your uterus is falling out. If you have these, you would probably be happy with a hysterectomy. The real question revolves around your ovaries. Depending on your age, the ovaries may or may not be removed. They provide hormones and keeping them will not affect your sex drive. If removed, hormones protect this.

Keep trying Rx: Keep working with your MD to find the right type of estrogen replacement (ERT)for you and your body. ERT comes in many "flavors" from pills to vaginal products and implants. It might be up to 6 months for your hair loss to stop once you are on the right dosages of estrogen. Have your MD also check your thyroid gland function as well as low thyroid will also cause your symptoms.

Healthy foods: The best way to loose weight is by avoiding foods high in fat and minimizing carbohydrate and sugar intake.  Regular exercise, if possible after the stroke, is very helpful.  Medical conditions such as thyroid disease and sleep apnea can effect your ability to loose weight. Be sure to have regular check ups and consider seeing a nutritionist.

Post BSO: While the ovaries are the main source of Estrogen production other tissues in the body, such as fat which makes Estrone, make versions of Estrogen as well.   As you are 51, you are at the natural age for menopause and the cessation of E production.  Exercise (weights) and calcium supplementation will be a good complement to a healthy diet &amp; lifestyle to stave off osteoporosis.

swollen breasts, severe night sweats(not hot flashes), fatigue, patchy hair loss under arm and pubic hair, strawberry tongue, swollen hands and fingers. partial hysterectomy in 2012. i'm 39. is this menopause?

Not menopause: What you described does not fit with symptoms of menopause. There is apparent hormonal imbalance but it needs evaluation through additional history, physical examination and likely some tests. It would by prudent to consult your gynecologist.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
