unexplained weight loss? losing 30 pounds in a year span with no excerise or diet, is that normal? could it be anxiety?

Yes, it could.: first, rule out physical. Depression or anxiety both have the shared symptom of unexplained and undesired weight loss or gain.  Something in your system is working overtime. Of course, it can certainly be related to other health problems.  If the undesired loss of weight is a function of an ongoing low-grade emotional problem, an adult may benefit from asking, "Is something 'eating away' at me?"

past couple of weeks whether im sitting or exercising it feels like i have the wind knocked out me. lose my breath. this started happening two years ago. seems to happen when anxiety is high. out of breath while carrying groceries for 25 minutes?

: If your grocery bags are as big as mine I would think most might be out of breath in your time but you didn’t not say if this was on level ground,  uphill, or stairs. If you have leg swelling or get up at night to pee could be early signs of heart failure.  Discuss with your Dr then get back with us again.

two therapists have told me they are not convinced my anxiety is psychological. i'm losing weight, but my tsh was normal at 1.01, any ideas?

Anxiety: Please continue to be followed by your doctor.  See a licensed clinical psychologist for psychological testing which he/she can follow up w/a course of psychotherapy if needed.  See www.relaxationresponse.org for some self-help also.  Peace and good health.

taking liquid zoloft (sertraline) for two weeks w/buspar, still feel loss of appetite and losing some wght. anxiety is not as bad. is no appetite normal?

No appetite: No, it's more normal to have some appetite.  You and your doctor may need to increase your zoloft (sertraline) dose, since loss of appetite can be part of depression.  Zoloft (sertraline) also requires at least 4-6 weeks therapeutic dosing for effectiveness. Work with your doctor on this, and please consider adding psychotherapy also.

Fight-Flight-Freeze!: All of the physical symptoms of anxiety direct result of the cascade of physiological events that get triggered when ur primitive fear & rage brain centers sense danger. This doesn't make them feel less unpleasant though!

Who knows?: Even if there are no detectable organic issues, "just" is an insult to anxiety. Anxiety can wreck havoc in lives. So, consider CBT therapy to learn skills to avoid, reduce and manage it. Best wishes!

Therapy and meds: Hi, i recommend that you find a psychologist who you feel safe with to do talk therapy. You can find a psychologist through http://locator.Apa.Org/ you can do psychotherapy alone and that can help tremendously. 

But,  i also suggest that you have an evaluation with a psychiatrist to explore a medication that might help ease your suffering.

If you become: anxious when your blood pressure is drawn - that can drive it up. I really recommend that you listen to your doctor. But, if you prefer you can worry yourself sick.

Are you pregnant?: Or are you fearful about the well being of your child / children ; their safety?  Do you fret about it obsessively? It is normal to worry about the outcome of a pregnancy or the safety of our children. However if you can't stop ruminating about it ; you know it is excessive - than consider seeing a psychologist for help.  On the other hand if you have a sick child and  your anxiety is not.

I am so sorry for: Your loss. Have you talked with a pastor, family, friends? If you are stuck in your grief (which anxiety can represent)  then consider talking with a psychologist or a counselor. Take care.
