Yes and no: It comes in two formulations: 12 hour and 24 hour - clearly marked on the package.  Take the 12 hour twice a day and the 24 hour once a day!

Sounds ok, but...: Some people try 2 loratadine (Claritin) per day because 1 per day did not help. The recommended dose is 1 per day, for use as an allergy medication. So, people who try 2 per day should go back to 1 per day if they did not see a big improvement when taking 2 per day. They should ask their doctors to confirm a diagnosis and ask which other medication can help, instead of taking 2 Claritin per day.

i took 10ml of loratadine at noon and just took another one at 4pm. i just found out it says only once a day. for a 37year old is this okay this one t?

Not a problem: This particular drug has a wide safety margin within the dose. Doubling does not produce any significant risk of side effects like you will see in many antihistamines. Doubling also doesn't provide any added benefit. You may want to place  a note or calendar on your refrigerator or medicine cabinet &amp; write down/check off when you give meds.

i have a bad case of allergies since yesterday.  i have been taking claritin (loratadine) (cvs verstion) once a day.  it doesn't seem to help.  ideas?

Other options: If you are sure your symptoms are allergies and not a viral upper respiratory infection, you might want to try a different antihistamine such as Allegra or zyrtec. Sometimes one antihistamine will work better than another. Nasal steroid inhalers are frequently more effective, but you will need to see your doctor because these are prescription medications.

: If you have not eaten any new foods recently which could explain food allergy then an intestinal parasite infestation could be the culprit. If you observe any change in bowel habit, stool should be checked, especially if blood test shows high eosinophil count (eosinophila). So you should see your doctor if this urticaria persists. You can continue to take loratadine daily for now.

Nasal itching: Symptoms of allergies are nasal itching, congestion, sneezing and runny nose.  Nose bleeds can occur from "trauma" by nose blowing.  Since antihistamines work, that suggests allergies.  An allergist can perform allergy testing to define what the allergy is so avoidance measures can be implemented.  There are additional medications that can be tried, but it is important to determine the trigger.
