: There is no absolute indication of cholecystectomy for asymptomatic gallstones (cholelithiasis) unless your primary doctor and surgeon suspect chronic pancreatitis as the cause of loose stool. Alcohol does not cause gallstones and cholelithiasis by itself does not cause loose stool but there is certain relationship between alcohol, cholelithiasis and chronic pancreatitis.

3 days ago,i increased my water intake.i got a jug that holds 8 glasses.ever since i've been having loose stools after eating.is this normal?

Possibly related: Increasing your fluid intake may have loosened your bowel movements just as not enough fluid intake may result in constipation. Count other sources of your fluid intake to see if you're exceeding 8 eight ounce glasses of fluid per day. If troublesome diarrhea persists it may also be a viral infection or a food intolerance. If bowel function doesn't return to normal,see your MD for evaluation.

8 month old vomiting and loose stools for past 5 days. have over the counter medication but not seem to be working. should i wait this out? baby not able to eat without vomiting but okay to drink breastmilk. no temp?

Infection/allergy: Gastrointestinal infections and food allergies may present with these symptoms. Continue to feed as usual and keep your baby well hydrated.  Adjust diet to avoid other sources of dairy, but add a baby yogurt daily. Bananas and rice cereal may help to relieve the diarrhea, but fluids are of utmost importance. Avoid full strength fruit juices and provide pedialyte.

Alcohol malabsorptio: Diarrhea, weight loss and osteoporosis are prominent symptoms and clinical signs of alcoholism. One of several possible factors causing this clinical picture is small intestinal damage leading to malabsorption alcohol inhibits the breakdown of nutrients into usable molecules by decreasing secretion of digestive enzymes from the pancreas (2). Alcohol impairs nutrient absorption by damaging the cell.

Many: Ibs, inflamatory bowel disease, infections, side effects of meds especially some meds like antibiotics  and some otc supplements. Just to name a few. You need labs , stool sample and probably a colonoscopy.

Normal variation: Since your child is acting well, the stools that you observe could be from a change in diet or from an increase in water as you describe and especially if there was an increase in juice or sweetened beverages.  If there is fever, cramping, abdominal pain, or blood in stools, further assessment would be recommended.

More food diary: I would suggest you keep track of a more consistent, thorough food diary to see what other foods you are reacting to. Is there pattern of dairy? gluten products? You could also try a lactose free diet for two weeks to see if that helps the situation.

Need to examine: Drinking more water would not cause diarrhea. The two events are likely coincidental. If you have had unintended weight loss, it is imperative that you consult a physician. 
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine, if you are under 27 years of age.
