Skin probably won't: tighten. For flatter abdomen eat healthy &amp; get physically active. Calories burned &gt; calories consumed. To tighten ab's: crunches, reverse crunches, exercise ball crunches, pelvic thrusts, lying leg raises, side bridge &amp; “bicycling” exercise on back. Engage in regular aerobic exercise (i.e. running, swimming, Nordic track, bicycling, kickboxing, walking, cross country skiing, hiking, etc.)

Give it time: Much of the excess skin will resorb by itself, just as a pregnant woman's skin resorbs after she delivers the baby. If there is still loose skin after that, you will need to see a plastic surgeon.

I can not offer...: ...much encouragement here.  Clearly the definitive treatment for sagging abdominal fat/skin or panniculus is surgical.  Unfortunately, this area of skin stretch and fat deposition is quite resistant to mobilization by diet and exercise. Abdominal strengthening exercises seem to have much more effect on the upper abdominal musculature. Carefully consider the pros/cons/risks/costs of surgery.

How much weight?: If you have lost a significant amount of weight in terms of percentage of total body weight, like more than 20%, then you may develop loose skin.  After being stretched for years, as we get older skin is less likely to recoil into its older tight position.  The more weight gain, and the faster the weight loss, the worse it is.  See a plastic surgeon who can advise you on surgical options

For people who have been super obese, Sometimes a procedure called a belt lift around the entire torso is warranted. Use only a plastic surgeon certified by the ABPS and or who is a member of ASPS

No easy fix: Traditionally a abdominoplasty, tummy tuck is used to remove excess skin. However there ia a scar usually under the panty line. There are lasers and other devices that may firm the skin a little but if you have alot of stretch marks then usually tummy tuck is the answer. You need to be evaluated by a board certified  plastic surgeon.

Loose abdominal skin: How long has this been going on? Any significant weight loss? Change in bowel habits? Appetite ? Any new medications begun. Far as i know loose abd skin, by itself doesn't cause symptoms like u describe, but the underlying cause of the loosening may be a factor. Need to check in with your pcp. Best wishes.

The : The need for plastic surgery to remove excess skin after weight loss depends on many factors. The most significant are the degree of weight loss and the recoil or recovery of skin stretch. The degree of weight loss is a double edged sword in that most patients want to lose as much as they can of their excess weight but the more they lose the more "excess" skin they will have. While there is very little proven to improve the recovery of stretched skin one sign of skin that will not recover as well are stretch marks. These areas of thinning of the skin which can also be reddened are one indication hat the skin has stretched beyond its ability to recover.
